NEW BREED PRAISE
TABERNACLE (NBPT)
BACKGROUND
The (NBPT) is an instrument of response to the Lord’s command to all Christians, as represented by the evangelists - Apostles (Matt. 28:16; Luke. 10:1) to undertake the great commission to save souls in order to increase our Lord.
The motivation for the Ministry and its origin are deeply rooted in the great examples of true friendship and excellent leadership demonstrated by God with respect to Abraham and Israel, by Jesus Christ, with respect to His followers and the Apostles, with respect to their followers. It picks its challenge and impetus from the reinstatement burden Christ placed upon Peter, for Peter to prove his love for His Sheep; NEW BREED PRAISE TABERNACLE would only love our Lord, by feeding and tending the Lord’s lambs and sheep. (John 21:15-17).
God made Himself relevant to His friend, Abraham, by removing barrenness and poverty from Abraham’s family. In the stead of those two states of dishonor, God gave them children and great wealth (Genesis). The more relevant God made Himself to Abraham, the more trustworthy Abraham saw God and the stronger his resolve to listen to God became.
Jesus Christ did not rely on His being the only begotten Son of God to win trustworthiness and following. In stead, He provided the spiritual and material needs of His followers. He taught, preached and healed abundantly (Matthew 4:23), He also fed His hungry followers. (14:13-21)
This teaching, preaching and healing in sync, enhanced His relevance to all who followed Him and provided them with all the reason to trust and follow Him.
The Apostles, whose principal mission was to spread the Good News among all creatures, had the partnership of the Holy Spirit, but they never put all their hopes for effectual evangelism in the single basket of the power of the Holy Spirit. They taught, preached (Acts 28:17-31, 17:1-9), healed (Acts 3:1-10) counseled, (Acts 20:27-28) and organized Relief assistance in the form of food Aid for Victims of the famine in Judea that was predicted by Prophet Agabus (Acts 11:28-30). By so doing, the Apostles were able to gain the confidence and sustained the following of those who believed in them.
The above mentioned examples demonstrate the care that God Himself, Jesus Christ and the Apostles showed for the spiritual and material well being of people, and, there should be no doubt that, those illustrations of purpose oriented integrity were for contemporary Christian leaders to follow suit. And that, exactly, is the mission of NBPT.
